When you run an actual LCA itβs rarely a blowout either way β it turns on scale and your local grid/water. Single-use wins on water, cleaning chemicals and CIP/SIP energy, and shrinks footprint and changeover time; it loses on plastic waste and the manufacture/transport of the consumables. Stainless flips that at large scale, where the fixed CIP/SIP overhead is amortised over big batches. Broad pattern: single-use tends to win at smallβmid scale and for multi-product/flexible facilities; stainless closes the gap and can win at large single-product scale. Honestly, the bigger lever is usually your energy source and water reuse, not the vessel choice.
